Building Friendships Through Art

Capacity: 58 | Cost: $56.50

The Association for Native Development in the Performing and Visual Arts and Arab Community Centre of Toronto have come together in friendship and connection to design a mosaic and bracelet incorporating Indigenous and Arabic cultural elements. We will co-host building the mosaic and bracelet beading workshops. A bracelet will be designed for Little Amal, a 3.5 metre-tall puppet who walks in support of refugees. The bracelet will be presented to Little Amal at Celebration Square in Mississauga on June 10. Inspired by social capital, the experience highlights what connects our communities and encourage new ways to learn about each other.

The Association for Native Development in the Performing & Visual Arts is Canada's oldest Indigenous arts service organization and works to increase civic engagement, trust and understanding of Indigenous peoples.

Arab Community Centre of Toronto is a community agency that empowers individuals, families, and communities to lead informed, productive, and culturally sensitive lives.
